Living a Food-Centered Life Process Group

A mental health process group focused reconnecting with self through food and the process of cooking and feeding ourselves. We will work together to navigate feelings, processing how to be in relationship with self, and in community with family and friends. You are ideal for this group if you have been living in scarcity around food and you are seeking a new approach and an abundant lifestyle outside of diet culture.

How do you know if this group is right for you?

  • You have a challenging history with dieting and diet-culture, so you feel unsure about how to move forward in a way that feels congruent with your values

  • Navigating food feels extra hard

What kind of support will you receive in the group?

  • Navigating the grief and paradigm shift that comes with dietary changes

  • Normalizing challenging relationships with food and disordered eating patterns based on how you have internalized the messaging from dominant culture

  • Processing the stressors of making the transition

  • Thinking creatively about how to meet your needs while also meeting the recommendations from your healthcare provider

  • Sharing food stories, tools and resources, recipes and other inspiration

  • Moving toward abundance

This group meets every other week, in-person or via telehealth. Both are small group formats. The in-person group has a capacity of three and is located in my Capitol Hill office. The telehealth group has a capacity of six. These are closed groups and, once you are a member, you pay to hold your spot for every meeting as long as you feel you are benefitting. If you must miss a meeting, payment is still expected in order to hold your spot in the group. The cost is $50 per session.
